Which culture wins?

In Austria, an Austrian man is fined for yodeling, as it offends his Muslim neighbor:

This raises a question: when two cultures come together, how do they begin to integrate?  I mean, on the myriad differences between them, who determines which culture wins, and how is that determination made?

I would suggest that the majority culture should hold sway.  If I’m living in Austria, with a rich tradition of yodeling, perhaps I should modulate my thinking to accept yodeling.  It seems quite rude to move into someone’s home and demand they cease centuries old traditions to protect my sensibilities.

  1. How did most European countries ever let it get this far? Their own people are making decisions to accommodate every other culture besides their own. It seems that everyone is afraid to combat the situation in fear of being insensitive to other cultures. Everyone is deemed insensitive if they stand up for what is really right .
Perfect example is the issue on immigration in this country. I read an article where 50 or so ILLEGAL Mexican immigrants were all fired from a Mexican restaurant chain, due to having no documentation showing they were U.S citizens. Now you have the Minnesota Immigration Rights Action Committeee saying that it was a state wide attack on the workers.
What ever happened to breaking the law? They were not here legally, so they should not be working here, Right? Opps, I shouldn’t have said that.. Now I may be referred to as a insensitive racist fool. Sorry!
