January 2, 2011: Islamic radical violence against Christians in the last ten days has left over 80 dead, hundreds wounded and over a hundred suspects arrested.

A 17-year-old girl who converted to Christianity from Islam was shot to death recently in an apparent “honor killing” in Somalia, according to Compass Direct News. Nurta Mohamed Farah, who had fled her village to live with relatives after her parents tortured her for leaving Islam, died on Nov. 25, according to the Compass Direct report.

You’ve seen many Muslims take delight in the fact that we were arrested at the Dearborn Arab Festival. Now take a good look at what we were arrested for. Then ask yourself, “Why would Muslims be so happy that Christians were arrested for peacefully sharing the Gospel?”

Admittedly, I don’t know both sides of the story.  But, if the video presented is accurate, it seems arresting these folks violated their rights, and qualifies as persecution.

What I do know is that it is much more dangerous to publish a cartoon of Mohammed than to slice apart a Christian with a machete.

It is true we don’t talk enough about the persecuted church.  And, while we are called to endure suffering, why American Christians aren’t more vocal for their government to do something for those Christians.  If our nation is founded on the idea of religious liberty, then you would think we could at least condemn the world wide attacks upon Christians.

Earlier, we heard what seemed like good news out of China.  Now, we’re hearing of more persecution.

The closure of what may be China’s first mega-church is the most visible sign that the communist government is determined to rein in the rapid spread of Christianity, with a crackdown in recent months that church leaders call the harshest in years.
